Miley is going green

Given their influence on millions of people, it’s great when we see stories like this about celebrities.  This time it’s Miley Cyrus, who is trying to adopt a greener stance in her lifestyle.

Buddy TV has an article all about it, but only mentions one green change — Miley wants a hybrid car.  While that’s certainly a good step, it sure doesn’t feel like much of a change in her lifestyle.  Even then, it sounds like her dad is the one pushing her to start going a little green.

It’ll be interesting to see if this green stance actually leads to other changes in her life, or if it just sounded like a good bit of PR for the day.

This is probably the final season of Hannah Montana

(via DisneySociety) According to what Miley told E! Online, this will probably be the final season of Hannah Montana.

“We’re thinking this is our last season. I just think we did a lot of episodes. We basically did two seasons in one last year. Usually people would do one season that would be, like, 16 episodes, we did almost 30 episodes! It seems like it’s been on, like, longer.

I’m still with my [Disney] family though. You know, they’re safe. They always feel like home. And that’s what I love about the company. They are family.”

I sort of saw it coming.  She’s been working hard to focus more on Miley and less on Hannah, so it was only a matter of time until she stepped away.  Do you think this is the end for Hannah Montana?

Extras injured on Hannah Montana movie set

According to E! Online, a gust of wind blew a projection screen into a ferris wheel on the Hannah Montana movie set, injuring a couple of extras.  None of the injuries were serious.

Neither Miley or Billy Ray were on the set when the accident occured.

The official statement from Disney reads, in part:

“During a break in the filming of Hannah Montana: The Movie, a minor accident occurred involving a piece of production equipment.  Fortunately, there were only a few minor injuries. Medical personnel have treated the extras and crew involved. None of the cast was on the set. Filming has resumed.”

Miley: How I’m different than Hannah

Here’s a new two-part interview with Miley Cyrus, found on Disney Society.  In the first video, she talks about some of the differences between her and Hannah.

In the second video, she talks about some of her songs, and a bit about making the album:

The Way We Almost Weren’t = Back to the Future?

After watching The Way We Almost Weren’t again with my daughters, I was stuck by the number similarities in this episode and the first Back to the Future movie.

  • Lightning was the catalyst for time travel.  Granted, they handled it very differently, but it was the same element.
  • The central plot is the disruption of their parent’s big moment.  In Hannah Montana it was first meeting, while in Back to the Future it was the first kiss.
  • Once disrupted, the children begin to disappear, starting with the oldest.  Marty was the youngest, but the photo with his older brother and sister showed them disappearing first.
  • The first element to disappear was the hand.  Both Marty and Jackson have shots of them looking directly through their hand in disbelief.
  • Both Marty and Jackson mistakenly called their father “dad”, and changed it to “dad..dad…daddio“.

At first, I thought it was just coincidence.  After thinking about it a bit more, I think it was an homage to Back to the Future, although rather subtle to most viewers.

Did you notice any other similarities between the two?

Miley to release new album on July 22

Breakout, the new album from Miley Cyrus, is due to release on July 22nd.  This will be her first album without “Hannah Montana” attached to it.

The first single from the album is “7 things”, apparently about her failed relationship with Nick Jonas.  She performed the song at Zootopia over the weekend, and it’s being received quite well. If you haven’t heard it yet, we’ve embedded it below for you.

Miley performs at Zootopia

This past weekend, Miley Cyrus performed at the Z100 Zootopia 2008 concert in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Hannah Montana Zone has a nice write-up about the event, including some pictures and videos.

Here is one of the videos — “Start All Over”:

Episode 2.23 - The Way We Almost Weren’t

BuddyTV has a nice recap of this episode. Beware, it gives away the entire story, so don’t read it if you haven’t watched that one yet.

In a nutshell, Miley and Jackson somehow go back in time to the day their parents first met, but they accidentally disrupt that first meeting (where their parents fell in love). They have to work to get them together, or else they’ll both cease to exist!

Here is a short video with some photos from the episode:
